Reporting To: Used Equipment Manager

Do you have high integrity and strong work ethic?  We are seeking an experienced Used Equipment Coordinator/Sales Representative with strong administrative skills and insight for improved processes to ensure our used equipment assets are appropriately repaired, priced and presented for sale. It will be critical to nurture and maintain relationships with our Branch Sales Team, Customers (both in and out of territory) as well as both Cat and independent used dealers. This position has ample room for growth and increased responsibility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Drive Used Equipment revenue and inventory turnover
  • Maintain machine records including inspections, photos and repair history
  • Maintain Toromont’s Used Equipment website to ensure inventory is accurately and effectively presented
  • Maintain Catused.com for accurate descriptions, photos and pricing of Toromont inventory
  • Manage inquiries from Customers, Sales Reps, Managers and others
  • Source equipment for both immediate sale or inventory
  • Develop strong relationships with both the Cat dealer network and independent Used Equipment Brokers
  • Arrange for documentation and follow up when importing or exporting used equipment
  • Review and reprice Used Equipment and attachments continually to ensure appropriate inventory turnover
  • Direct marketing to ensure effective Used Equipment exposure through all appropriate mediums
  • Provide guidance to branches in establishing trade values and inventory preparation for resale
  • Manage customer and CFSL consignments
  • Manage repairs required to demo class equipment with our Service Department

Key Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education and 10+ years industry experience
  • Sales experience to include identifying and engaging new customers/business opportunities
  • Safety conscious and motivated with leadership skills to drive the sales organization for results
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to maintain and grow existing and new business
  • Strong analytical, planning, organization and presentation skills
  • Technical background would be an asset with a solid understanding of heavy equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of the heavy equipment industry and customer applications
  • Customer centric and effective team player with proven relationship management
  • Solid negotiation, problem solving and decision making abilities with a mindset for continuous improvement
  • Results driven and adaptable to changing priorities with a sense of urgency in a fast paced environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Willing and able to travel as required and possess a valid Driver’s Licence and clean Driver's Abstract
