Reporting To: Special Projects Manager

Do you have high integrity and strong work ethic?  We are seeking an experienced Component Analyst who will be responsible for developing strategies around Just-In-Time inventory planning for each Mining machine component. The Component Analyst will also be accountable for ensuring that the tracking tool is properly set up for key surface and mining models.

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate workplace safety, environmentally sound and healthy behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s and the mine owner’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
  • Report on a quarterly basis the future Parts needs to various key stakeholders. Reporting will also include (but not limited to): inventory shortfalls, demand bunching and over-inventory circumstances
  • For Component tracking purposes; develop data templates using Toromont’s software
  • Train all Dealer personnel responsible for component tracking on how to navigate necessary  system(s)
  • Manage data inputted into equipment accounts for major customers in the Mining division
  • Communicate quarterly reports to both Caterpillar and Reman
  • Provide feedback as well as strategic recommendations with reference to customer Leads on components at risk, lost sales trends, bunching of demand corporately, and component life cycle based on global trends 
  • Work in collaboration with the Programming department to enhance functionality of the Component Tracking software

Key Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education with a specialization in engineering in addition to 2+ years of experience in the mining industry
  • Highly safety conscious with a solid understanding of equipment component life cycles and Mining equipment Technical competencies
  • Programming experience including knowledge of SQL databases and software development cycles 
  • Customer centric and self-motivated with high attention to detail
  • Adaptable to constantly changing priorities and schedules in a high pressure, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with all levels and cross functional groups in addition to effective Technical Reporting capabilities
  • Computer literate with proficiencies in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Process improvement mindset with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Willing and able to travel to customer sites as required
  • A valid Driver's Licence and clean Driver's Abstract
