Do you have high integrity and strong work ethic?  We are seeking a talented Mining Parts Planning Analyst who will be responsible for the PLESN (Plan for every serial number) initiative across the Mining Division, which involves working with the Site Planners, the Mining Parts Analysts and Technical Parts Analysts in Quebec to ensure future inventory orders are being submitted to CAT. The Mining Parts Planning Analyst will also perform analysis for future rebuilds, new machines and past performances to develop a plan for our mining machines and ensure fill rates for large mine sites remain high and the logistic lead times are met and orders are prompted for both our Mining and Reman Businesses. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Consolidate data from PLESN software in EMT and advise of data gaps or errors working with site personnel 
  • Gather information from various sources, analysis and discussions with internal groups such as the site PSMs, Planners and Mining Parts Analysts in order to forecast 24 months ahead
  • Place future orders to ensure the supply chain can provide the required components to minimize customer downtime
  • Submit required reports for PLESN Program to CAT to include both Mining and Reman details
  • Review inventory levels, fill rates by site and discuss any roadblocks regarding orders and with the Site Parts Team and PSM to improve the logistics process in collaboration with the Planning Manager
  • Manage, approve, coordinate and execute buy back requests
  • Determine customer’s eligibility for large buy backs and acceptable pricing then communicate back to the site PSMs
  • Process returns and provide a sundry credit to the customers as required
  • Propose, forecast and order parts required for our customer mine sites to ensure PLESN strategy is met to include both the Mining and Reman Businesses

Key Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related industry and highly safety conscious
  • Knowledge of the Resource Industry products, customers and logistics
  • 5-10 years’ experience working with CAT products
  • 5 years of DBS experience
  • Customer centric with proven analytical, problem solving and time management skills
  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills to deal with internal and external customers at all levels
  • Collaborative with a sense of urgency and mindset for continuous improvement
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter, independent and a team player with high initiative and integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Applications with an advanced Excel knowledge and analysis of large data sets and pivot tables (MS Access and parts systems would be an asset)
  • Experience with Sequel/Query and extracting data would also be beneficial
  • Willing and able to travel and a valid Driver's Licence and clean Driver's Abstract
