Reporting To: Service Manager, Truck

Do you have high integrity and strong work ethic?  We are seeking an experienced Service Supervisor, Truck to provide efficient, knowledgeable and professional customer service both personally and through strong team leadership.  This leader is responsible for also providing direction to the Truck and Coach Shop Service Team ensuring consistent implementation of policies and procedures in conjunction with corporate directives and increased market share.
Please note:  This will be our afternoon shift Monday-Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am.

Key Accountabilities

  • Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives as well as enforce customer safety rules 
  • Schedule truck and coach service work to maximize productivity of shop and update customers on repair progress
  • Champion the coach service business and mentor the Truck and Coach Technicians to meet and exceed customer and business expectations
  • Ensure Truck and Coach Coordinators execute service work at a high level in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide direction on financial implications of work orders including customer pay, warranties, policies and redos
  • Prepare quotes and review invoices for customers / approvals
  • Prepare and submit TRGs and claims to Cat / Corporate Warranty and address or modify any discrepancies
  • Provide dispute resolution and support the management of work in progress
  • Promote and improve a high level of customer satisfaction and follow up on repairs
  • Identify and resolve issues by initiating corrective procedures relating to shop floor and office procedures
  • Encourage continuous process improvement within the shop operations through regularly scheduled meetings and associated training including changes from Cat and MCI Warranty 
  • Manage and execute training requirements, performance evaluations and coaching sessions for direct reports
  • Work with a sense of urgency and foster a team environment to encourage growth

Key Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education with a technical focus and 5-10 years truck and coach industry experience
  • Highly safety conscious with knowledge of CAT and Competitive Product lines
  • Customer centric with strong leadership, efficient coaching and effective team building skills
  • Exceptional communication, relationship development and interpersonal skills
  • Mindset for continuous improvement, excellent problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Proven business and financial acumen with effective decision making and time management 
  • Sense of urgency with the ability to drive sales through strong negotiation, analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with constant deadlines and changing priorities
  • Self-directed, independent and a team player with high initiative and integrity
  • Computer and systems literate with proficiencies in Microsoft Applications including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of CAT Corporate Web Navigation, DBS, SIS or experience with Toromont operations would be an asset
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours in support of the business needs
  • Valid Driver's Licence and clean Driver's Abstract
