Reporting To: General Manager, Mining

The Mining Product Support Manager will be part of the team developing new mining projects with relation to Product Support. This Manager will focus on building new processes and strategies that will include (but not limited to): MARC, operations support agreements, site performance strategies, labour and parts forecasting along with wear products business plans by customers.
 
Location will be determined on the selection of a successful candidate.

Key Accountabilities

  • Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Manage and make certain key Mining Fleet improvement initiatives are consistently communicated across the Mining division
  • Build and maintain actionable plans in order to achieve established performance levels
  • Ensure projected Maintenance costs are competitive in nature in comparison to other dealers within the industry
  • Update centerline maintenance data on an annual basis
  • In order to ensure customer expectations are met – require all Mine Sites to forecast their parts needs to Corporate and Caterpillar
  • Grow Toromont’s aftermarket wear business working in conjunction with Caterpillar and our dealer partner welding facilities and GET initiatives
  • Establish marketing programs for mining product support and partner with the General Manager of Business Development on Request for Proposal preparations and other strategies
  • Provide direction to the Manager of Caterpillar Certified Rebuilds (CCR) of Mining products for marketing programs, market based pricing, efficient rebuild execution and CCR volume plans
  • Lead a high level of customer focus and maintain trusted relationships
  • Review and monitor operational expenses and financial reports
  • Lead, inspire and coach employees to achieve personal and corporate objectives

 

Key Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education with a minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial/supervisory position in a related industry
  • Strong technical aptitude with a solid knowledge of the heavy equipment industry and products
  • Customer centric with proven leadership, coaching, mentoring and people development skills
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to oversee financial operations
  • Experienced with planning and budgeting with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • A strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills to deal with customers and all levels of employees, including Senior Executives and Regional General Managers
  • Solid understanding of Caterpillar and Toromont operating policies and procedures
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications, DBS and SIS
  • Must be willing to travel and possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driers abstract
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset to this role
