Reporting To: Lab Supervisor

If you have high integrity and a strong work ethic, we want you on our team. The Lab Admin. Coordinator will receive and register all lab samples and supplies as well as mail sample results to customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
  • Receive samples from walk-in customers and courier services
  • Sort all fluid samples and prepare them in a tray for laboratory testing
  • Accurately enter sample information provided via paperwork or online registration into SOS Services Manager
  • Utilize Customer Search database to assist in accurate sample registration
  • Print and mail out or e-mail completed reports to customers in timely manner
  • Maintain and update customer/equipment information in SOS Services Manager
  • Keeping workstations clean including proper disposal of all waste produced in receiving area
  • Customer Service involving all matters relating to sample registration
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies required in the office and receiving station
  • Assist supervisor in completing all laboratory administrative tasks
  • Promptly communicate any systems/process issues and provide weekly progress reports to the Lab Supervisor


Key Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education and a minimum 2 years of experience in a reception or administrator position is preferred
  • Safety conscious, exceptional communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a friendly and polished telephone manner
  • Customer centric with proven initiative, problem solving, attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Results driven and adaptable to changing priorities and schedules
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook proficiencies at an intermediate level
  • Knowledge of Cat E.T., SIS & DBS would be an asset
