Reporting To: Service Supervisor

If you have high integrity and a strong work ethic, we want you on our team! We are seeking Remote Site Apprentice Technicians, Heavy Equipment who will continue to train with our trusted Technicians and maintain steady progression into a Licensed Technician position in order to safely and effectively diagnose and repair customer equipment in a timely manner while ensuring positive customer relations.  Note: Rotational Schedule of 2 weeks in / 2 weeks out (remote site premium is applicable).

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
  • Repair Caterpillar equipment for our customers in a timely and economical manner
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
  • Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner

Key Qualifications

  • Completed a College Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice Program with exemption exams written and passed
  • Highly safety conscious and a Co-op/1-2 years experience repairing equipment on a shop floor would be an asset
  • Knowledge of CAT SIS, or experience with Toromont parts operations would be an asset
  • Ability to read and understand prints, drawings and technical bulletins
  • Customer centric with excellent relationship management, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and energetic team player who can work effectively in a high demand fast paced environment
  • Able to take the initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Computer and systems literate with proficiencies Excel and Word (DBS would be beneficial)
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours in support of the business needs
  • A valid Driver’s Licence and current clean Driver’s Abstract
