Reporting To: Manager, Benefit & Risk Management

Do you have high integrity and strong work ethic?  We are seeking an experienced Bilingual Pension Analyst to manage all the administration of multiple Company Pension Plans as a support to the pension management team and also the liaison with external consultants, management and employees.
 
Note: This position could be based out of our Concord, Ontario or Pointe Claire, Quebec Head Office.

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Liaise with consultants, trust companies and investment manager representatives regarding our employees’ Defined Contribution/Defined Benefits Pension Plans
  • Remain current on related new and existing pension, tax and securities legislation and share knowledge with the team
  • Prepare all reports required by legislation (AIR, PGFB, FSCO Forms 7,8)
  • Coordinate pension committee meetings and draft minutes
  • Download reports and reconcile monthly statements from custodians
  • Review and administer annual pension statements to members
  • Administer letters of credit and monitor their status for cancellation
  • Participate in and assist with special projects and other administrate functions as required
  • Coordinate the preparation of pension financial statements
  • Prepare asset reconciliation for actuarial consultants
  • Participate in annual audit and other corporate pension related accounting reconciliations
  • Prepare HST return information and provide quarterly payment to CRA

Key Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, or equivalent and a minimum 5 years Pension experience
  • Must be Bilingual - English/French
  • Safety conscious with sound knowledge of Pension Plan rules and the interpretation and application of these rules
  • Working knowledge of Provincial Pension Legislation and Income Tax rules and regulations including Ontario, Manitoba, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia
  • Customer centric with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team environment
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills with a mindset for continuous improvement
  • Solid business and financial acumen with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter, able to work independently under pressure with time sensitive deadlines
  • Knowledge of and aptitude for mathematics
  • Well-developed computer skills and able to work well with Microsoft Applications
  • Willing and able to travel as required in support of the business
  • Working towards achieving a related Designation such as CEBS would be an asset
