We are seeking a positive and professional Project Manager with effective communication and organizational skills. Our Project Manager will carry responsibility for any given Toromont on-site operations and will be a direct liaison with the Customers’ planning, operations and maintenance departments at various sites. 
**This is a rotational schedule with 2 weeks in / 2 weeks days out of the location and remote site premium is applicable.**

Key Accountabilities

  • Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives

  • Manage resources and relationships with the customer to develop and enhance the partnerships
  • Manage the integrity, safety, growth and profitability of Toromont and our customers
  • Actively motivate, coach, mentor and manage performance of team
  • Ensure employee Training Certificates (safety and technical) are up to date and on file
  • Encourage continuous improvement on the site through scheduled meetings between management, other departments and employees, and the customer
  • Assist in the monitoring and management of WIP, accounts receivable, warranty and goodwill claims
  • Develop, implement and manage all product support initiatives at the mine, including active and future maintenance contracts and all other programs offered by Toromont and Caterpillar
  • Proactively identify and quantify potential liabilities at site and immediately implement corrective actions to mitigate risk to asset base and/or margin
  • Assist on-site and corporate parts teams in the planning and implementation of parts supply and inventory management at site
  • Identify and communicate Toromont and customer objectives or issues with documentation and visuals suitable for meetings or electronic presentations
  • Monitor financial results to ensure goals and commitments are met in both expenses and sales
  • Develop yearly budget and forecasts as required
  • Download machine electronic data on a monthly basis and provide data interpretations
  • Establish an equipment product problem management strategy in conjunction with Toromont Technical Communicators
  • Travel regularly to the site for scheduled meetings, site inspections and any issues as required

Key Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education with a technical background and 5+ years experience in project management and/or experience with surface or underground mining equipment
  • Effective communication and organizational skills to effectively interact across all levels of the organization
  • Solution focused and customer centric with effective interpersonal, leadership, coaching and team building skills to support operations
  • Excellent negotiating, analytical and problem solving skills with a high sense of urgency
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing and multiple priorities to meet aggressive deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications, DBS, SIS and Caterpillar Corporate Web Navigation
  • Willing and able to travel and work flexible hours in support of the needs of the business
