Reporting To: Industrial Business Manager

Do you have high integrity and strong work ethic?  We are seeking a diligent Production Scheduler, Diesel Distribution to manage scheduling for all products including engines, transmissions, undercarriages as well as miscellaneous products, etc. and drive our continuous improvement process to ensure timely delivery and top quality products/solutions for our customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
  • Schedule all builds/products through the Production Shop
  • Review Bill of Materials (BOMs) on a regular basis and provide feedback on projects to ensure budgets are aligned
  • Partner with Project Manager and Purchasing to ensure timely receipt of components for the Production Shop
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of information in the iMACS and SAP Systems
  • Track outstanding project delivery dates, identify possible delays and take corrective action
  • Partner with the Industrial Industry Manager and Account Managers to identify “stock” builds and ensure plan is followed
  • Communicate Engine Shipment Deadlines (ESDs) for new orders and delivery delays to the Industrial Team
  • Ensure all Engine Completion Programs are submitted in a timely manner
  • Ensure all Caterpillar Focus Programs are maintained and proper discounts are included on all factory invoices
  • Arrange freight, when appropriate in conjunction with PM
  • Ensure Standard Production Order notes are maintained and relevant to enhance communication between the office and production team

Key Qualifications

  • College or University Degree (in Engineering/Applied Science) preferred with 2+ years experience in a relevant position
  • Safety conscious with a technical aptitude and excellent analytical skills and knowledge of Project Management strategies
  • Knowledge of diesel engines would be an asset
  • Customer centric with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of detail, organization and time management with a mindset for continuous improvement
  • Experience dealing with suppliers, contractors, technicians and other cross functional/branch teams at all levels
  • Effective decision making, judgment and planning to achieve results in a fast paced, demanding environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong business acumen and a good understanding of general business principles
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (experience with SAP, DBS, iMACS, SMAX would be beneficial)
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours in support of the business needs
